Jumble Solver
Type the four scrambled words and the circled letters from today's puzzle. We unscramble each word and put the circled letters together into the answer.
How to use it with the newspaper
Each scrambled word uses every one of its letters exactly once, so the tool looks for exact anagrams, common words first. For the final answer, type the letters from the circles and tell us the shape of the answer, like “4, 5”, and it tries every way to split them into real words.
Only have a handful of letters and no puzzle? Unscramble finds every word you can make from any set of letters.
Questions people ask
Do you post the answer to today's Jumble?
No. Jumble is a syndicated newspaper puzzle and the answers belong to its publisher. What we offer is the tool: type in what's printed and it does the unscrambling. The result is yours in a few seconds.
A scrambled word comes back with no match. Why?
Nine times out of ten a letter was typed wrong. Jumble words are everyday words, so if it's spelled correctly, we have it. Check the puzzle and retype the word.
Why doesn't the final answer appear?
The final answer is a pun, and puns bend words: 'a-door-able', 'hole-in-one'. The tool finds the phrases built from ordinary words. If the top result reads oddly, say it out loud, that's usually the joke.
What is the answer shape?
The row of dashes under the cartoon tells you how long each word of the answer is. Two groups of dashes, four and five, means a two-word answer: type 4, 5.
