Unscramble Letters
Type your letters and get every word they can make, longest and most common first. Blanks welcome.
What it looks at
The tool tries every combination of your letters, from all of them down to three, and checks each against the dictionary. Words are grouped by length so the long, high-scoring ones sit on top, and within each group the words you actually know come first.
Working on the daily Jumble? The Jumble Solver takes all four scrambled words at once and assembles the circled letters into the answer.
Questions people ask
Which dictionary does it use?
A public-domain English word list of about 173,000 words, the same family of lists used in word games for decades. Each word is tagged by how common it is in everyday English, so the familiar words come first.
Does it find words that use only some of my letters?
Yes. That is the point: from seven tiles it finds the seven-letter words, the six-letter words, and so on down to three letters. Set an exact length if you only want one size.
How do blank tiles work?
Type a question mark for each blank, up to two. The tool tries every letter in that spot and shows everything it finds.
Is this the same as a Jumble solver?
Close. A Jumble answer uses all the letters, so you'd want an exact-length match. We built a separate Jumble Solver that also puts the circled letters together into the final pun.
